
This afternoon, at Stony Brook University’s annual spring football game, Don Liotine ’13 was named the Offensive MVP for the 2018 season. Here is the press release from Stony Brook University:
The Ernest Owusu Offensive Most Valuable Player Award went to running back Donald Liotine. He earned first team All-CAA honors after recording 1,148 rushing yards last season, the seventh-most by a Seawolves player in their history. He was also the program’s first 1,000-yard rusher since 2014.
Liotine played in all 12 of the Seawolves’ games this autumn, starting 11 of them. His 1,148 rushing yards were the seventh-most in a single season in Stony Brook history. He scored six rushing touchdowns this season along with two more receiving scores. Liotine was the Seawolves’ Swiss army knife, able to run, catch, and return while averaging 135.0 all-purpose yards per game. He recorded six 100-yard rushing games this season, including four in which teammate Jordan Gowins also went over 100, tying the school record for a backfield duo. His 75-yard rushing touchdown at Fordham was Stony Brook’s longest offensive play from scrimmage last season. Off the field, he earned a place on the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team.
He closes a storied career ranked fourth in career rushing yards (2,826), third in career carries (583), fourth in rushing touchdowns (23), and fourth in all-purpose yards (4,077).
