Liotine Passes 1,000 Yards as ‘Wolves Top Delaware
On Saturday afternoon Don Liotine ’13 had himself quite a Senior Day as he became the first Seawolf since 2014 to surpass 1,000 rushing yards in a season after racking up 170 yards on 27 carries in Stony Brook University’s 17-3 win over #11 Delaware.
It was the sixth time this season and the tenth time in his career that Liotine rushed for 100+ yards and he punctuated his day with a 33-yard fourth quarter touchdown run to cap the upset win for the #12 Seawolves (7-3, 5-2). After his memorable day he was named the team’s Offensive Player of the Game for the second time this season.
Liotine stepped onto campus in 2013 as a walk-on, yet with one regular season game left in his career, he finds himself near the top of numerous Seawolf leaderboards:
- Career Touchdowns: 22 (5th all-time)
- Career Total Offense: 3,822 yards (4th all-time)
- Career Rushing Yards: 2,703 (4th all-time)
- Career Rushing Carries: 543 (4th all-time)
- Rushing Yards this Season: 1,025 (11th Seawolf ever)
Liotine and the Seawolves wrap up their regular season on Saturday at Albany in the annual Empire Clash before looking ahead to a potential spot in the FCS Playoffs.
