This morning, Newsday released their list of the Top 100 baseball players on Long Island and junior Joe Wozny was numbered among the best players from the Suffolk and Nassau public school leagues and the Catholic School league. Wozny was the only PSAA player included on the list.
The UConn-bound righty was 5-1 last season with a 1.52 ERA and a school record 121 strikeouts in just 59.2 innings. After his breakout sophomore season, he earned the first All-State nod for the Bears since 1999.
This was the second straight year Wozny was named to Newsday‘s Top 100.
The Bears are back in action on Wednesday and Friday with scrimmages against Central Islip and Port Jeff. They open the league season at Avenues on April 4.
