3 Bears Ink Letters on National Signing Day

Giardini, Cristobal & Berger (PC: Jackson Loo)

On Friday afternoon, students, faculty, and parents gathered in the Hollis Student Center to celebrate three seniors who officially committed to competing at the college level by signing their National Letters of Intent.

Sydneyanna Giardini officially committed to playing lacrosse at Division I Farleigh Dickinson University after verbally committing to the Knights last December. In her first season with the Bears last spring, she was an offensive catalyst for a team that went undefeated in PSAA play and won the first regular season title in program history.

Emily Berger signed with Division III Oberlin College after committing this summer. The captain was the anchor of a stingy girls’ lacrosse defense last spring that yielded just a shade over three goals per game. The All-PSAA goalie closed her junior season at #3 on the Long Island private school saves list and pulled to within 10 stops of the 300-save milestone for her career. Berger and Giardini will look to lead the Bears back to the state tournament this spring.

Carina Cristobal signed with Division I Colgate University after recently closing one of the most decorated tennis careers in Blue & White history. The three-time PSAA MVP led the team to four straight undefeated regular season titles and three straight tournament championships while closing her four-year career undefeated in league play.
