Yesterday afternoon, the volleyball team faced Long Island Lutheran in a rematch of the last two PSAA Tournament Championships. The familiar script remained unchanged as the Bears swept their league rival, 3-0, for the eight straight time–a remarkable 24 straight sets.
The win also marked the Bears’ 40th consecutive regular season league victory, breaking their own school record yet again, and their 21st straight sweep vs. PSAA opponents, including the playoffs. Every time our girls take the floor we have a chance to watch one of our school’s greatest dynasties continue to rewrite the history books.
Yesterday, the Bears were tested, but did not wilt under the pressure as they dispatched Lutheran, 25-20, 25-18, 25-21. Niamh Scanlon (3 aces, 2 kills), Lilly Keegan (2 aces, 4 kills, 3 digs), Ava McCormick (3 blocks, 4 kills), and Ella Middlekauff (6 kills, 3 blocks) led the way for The Brook.
The Bears are back in action on Friday when they face Portledge on the 1st annual Fall Portledge Day, in a rematch of last year’s PSAA Semifinal.
