In the latest Perfect Game rankings, sophomore Jayden Stroman was listed as the #5 ranked player in the nation in the Class of 2025. To put that into perspective, the fifth-ranked player in the class of 2022 was the top pick in this summer’s Major League Baseball Draft and signed the largest signing bonus ever for a high school player. This time last year, Stroman was #38 in the 2025 class but saw a meteoric rise through the ranks, despite an injury setback, after a breakout freshman year that helped power the Bears to the state title game.

Perfect Game is one of the biggest names in prep baseball, providing tournaments and showcases, often in partnership with the MLB, to promote the game and provide exposure for thousands of players. Our Duke-bound shortstop currently has a 10 rating on their 1-10 scale, which indicates their belief that he will be a “potential very high draft pick and/or elite level college prospect.”

Two weekends ago, at the Perfect Game Select Festival, which welcomed the top 48 players in the class to Fort Myers, Florida, Stroman dazzled with his power at the plate in sharing the Home Run Derby with Quentin Young, a 6′ 4″, 200-lbs middle infielder out of California.

He will be one of the leaders of a strong core of returners and newcomers that has its sights on one goal this spring: a State Championship.
