On this day 10 years ago, the girls’ track team battled with the best at the Suffolk County Championships.

Brannon Burke led the way for the Brook, tossing the discus 92′ 9″ to finish 12th overall in Suffolk and earn a place in the New York State Championships. She also took 18th in the shot put with a throw of 31′ 8″.

Other competitors for the Brook included:

• Alexis Fernandez: 3000 – 11:07.34 (15th) & 1500 – 5:10.81 (18th)
• Briana Stiklickas: 400 – 66.81 (16th)
• Kelsey Wentling: 100 Hurdles – 17.63* (20th) & 400 Hurdles – 73.71 (20th)
