On this day 26 years ago, the boys’ lacrosse team earned the program’s first playoff victory with a 9-6 win over Rocky Point in the Suffolk County quarterfinals.

At halftime the Bears and Eagles stood locked at 3-3, but a pair of goals by Sam Hanchett and a score by Ryan Niebuhr powered a 3-0 Blue and White spurt to open the third quarter. Hanchett finished with a hat trick while Alex Radin added 2 goals and 2 assists for the fourth-seeded Bears.
