Tankeh vs. Mercy in 2014 (PC: Bruce Jeffrey)

On this day 4 years ago, Charles Tankeh won the Class B 100m and 200m crowns at the Suffolk County Track & Field Championships.

The sophomore took the 100m final in 11.00 and the 200m in 22.18 to join Taylor Colucci (in 2010 and 2011) as the only sprinters in school history to complete that double victory.

In the 100m, Tankeh was the only Class B runner to qualify for the finals, giving him the county crown. He went on to finish 6th overall in the county with a run of 11.36. In the 200m, Tankeh was again the only Class B runner to qualify out of the prelims to take the crown.
