On this day 33 years ago, the baseball team clinched a share of the program’s first public school League Championship in a 13-1 victory over Shelter Island.

Doug Alioth and Hill Haas led the offense with 2 RBIs a piece while Dave Morabito, Brad Phillips, Dean Sandbo, Rob Dambra, Greg Philipps, and Daniel Terrell each added an RBI.

Alioth earned with win, allowing just 2 hits over 5.2 innings with 7 strikeouts. Philipps closed out the game with 1.1 innings of one-hit work.
