On this day 34 years ago, the boys’ track team earned a fourth of five consecutive League Championships with a 127-20 victory over Mattituck.

The 1984 boys’ track team will be counting on the experience of returning lettermen and a couple of new students as it attempts to continue its tradition of excellence in league and conference competition. Richard Alioth (400 hurdles), Andy Hoffman (3200 run), Pierre Lawrence (100, 200 dashes), Ward Regan (110 hurdles), Paul Sanford (400 hurdles), John Shannon (3200 run), and Richard Wittman (800 run) all placed in last season’s Conference Championship. Newcomers Larry Hutchenson and Joel Whitman have shown evidence in early practices of talent that should mean points for the Shrike Cindermen.
