Yesterday afternoon the boys’ cross country team improved to 2-1 on the season in a dominant 19-44 victory over Mercy. It was the Bears’ 8th straight victory over the Monarchs dating back to 1994 including wins in 2013 (18-43), 2012 (21-39), 2000 (15-50), 1999 (15-50), 1998 (15-47), 1997 (24-34), and 1994 (23-25). Their last loss against their east end foes came in 1993, a 28-27 defeat.

Yesterday the Bears grabbed 7 of the first 8 spots on Sunken Meadow’s 2.8 mile course, led by Louis Wang’s victory in 16:20. Riley Corcoran (3rd place/16:25), Max Garner (4th/17:17), Josh Lin (5th/17:26), and Emmanuel Ajewole (6th/17:36) rounded out the scoring for the Brook.

The boys are back on the course in a multi-team meet with the Private Schools Athletic Association (PSAA) on Tuesday.
