On This Day In History | 1964
Peter Randall, Glenn Ogden and the boys cross country team continued their remarkable season by running away with the Ivy League Championship, their 10th title in a row and 14th in program history. On an unseasonably warm day Randall won individual honors for the 3rd consecutive time, becoming the Brook’s only 3-time individual Ivy League Champion. In doing so he lowered Van Cortlandt Park’s 2.5 mile course record for the 3rd time that season, coming across in 12:36.5. Stony Brook’s Bernard Mumo set a fast early pace and midway through the race Randall took over and never relinquished the lead.
