On Friday night, the boys’ basketball team dismantled Waldorf at Island Garden, 70-49, to improve to 2-1 in PSAA play.
The Bears led 18-14 after one, thanks to eight points from Orlando Morris and six from Charlie Onana Awana. Onana Awana tallied nine in the second frame to help The Brook build a 35-26 halftime advantage. The Bears continued to increase their margin in a 15-13 third period and then put the game out of reach down the stretch in a 20-10 last period.
Onana Awana powered the Bears with 23 points, which included multiple dunks, while Randolph Logan (11 points), Federico Chiappa (10), Morris (10), Niks Zemitis (8), Nate Small (4), Osazee Alapa (3), and Josh Duncan (1) rounded out a very balanced attack.
The Bears are back in action on Tuesday afternoon in a key match-up at the Knox School.
