On Saturday morning, Sophia Dabbraccio continued her sensational debut season by running to a first place finish at the freshman/sophomore race of the Suffolk Officials Invitational. The eighth-grader covered the 1.5-mile Sunken Meadow course in 9:56.6 to hold off Long Island Lutheran’s Maya Harrison by nine seconds.
The field included such large schools as Ward Melville, Uniondale, West Islip, Hills West, and Patchogue-Medford, but Dabbraccio proved to be too much for them.
Dabbraccio and the Bears are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Knox for a PSAA meet.
