Yesterday afternoon, the boys’ soccer team improved to 3-0 in PSAA play with a 9-0 win over Solomon Schechter on the home pitch.
After several unfulfilled chances early on, the Bears bulged the net at the 29:51 mark when James Fay fed his brother John for the eventual game-winner. John returned the favor eight minutes later when he assisted James for a 2-0 lead. James then scored the next two goals for The Brook just 75 seconds apart when he put away a deflected shot from Lani Ajeigbe before volleying home a ricochet with 10:56 left.
The Fay Show continued 26 seconds later when John dribbled up middle, deked past the goalie, and finished for a 5-0 edge. Jadon Sung tucked away a goal with 4:49 left and with a minute remaining, Stephen Cisz found the net when he launched one of his surface-to-air-missile throw-ins toward the net where it glanced off the keeper’s outstretched hand and in to give the Blue & White a 7-0 halftime advantage.
John Fay and Aidan Riley added second half scores and Jason Kim recorded the clean sheet in net. The Bears are back on the pitch on Friday evening when they face Portledge in the nightcap of the 1st Annual Fall Portledge Day.
