On Wednesday afternoon, the girls’ swim team opened the season with a dominant showing at Central Islip. The Bears took the top spot in all 11 events and surged to the top three places in eight of them.
Amelia Griffin (200 individual medley & 100 breaststroke), Kaitlyn Tse (100 backstroke & 500 free), Ruth Crane (200 free), Naomi Crane (50 free), and Genevieve Rochlin (100 butterfly) were individual event winners for the Bears.
The Blue & White rounded out the win by sweeping the relays as Griffin, Rochlin, Tse, and Brooke Shteierman won the 200 medley, Scarlett Wigington, Duretti Teressa, Jemima Kirabo, and Rochlin took the 200 free, and Naomi Crane, Wigington, Shteierman, and Griffin won the 400 free.
The Bears are back in action on September 15 when they take on Hauppauge/Smithtown in enemy waters.
