Bears Top Hampton Bays to Stay Unbeaten

A storm hit the Baymen of Hampton Bays on Thursday afternoon in the form of a 4-0 Stony Brook victory that helped our boys improve to 2-0 on the season.

All four scores came in the first half as the Brook buried their old NYSPHSAA rival with an early offensive surge. The Bears got on the board less than eight minutes into the game when Jayson Amin bounced a corner kick across the middle that Kevin Kiprotich Kirui put home off of a defender. James Fay doubled the margin when he pilfered a defender near midfield, deked past the goalie, and put away an open-netter with 23:59 left. With 11:09 remaining, Fay turned 180 degrees on a cross from the left end line that found Kiprotich Kirui who finished into the top right corner from 15 yards out. Two minutes later the Bears put the finishing touch on a brilliant half when Fay beat two defenders before finding Ade Adedeji on the back post for a sliding goal. Jason Kim and Sean Kong split a clean sheet in goal.

The Bears hit the field again on Monday when they open their defense of three straight PSAA regular season titles against Waldorf.
