On Tuesday afternoon, TJ Wachter ’21 had 2 hits, 2 runs, and an RBI in Fordham University’s 9-5 victory over Iona at home in Houlihan Park.

In the 12th start of the season for the freshman, he had an RBI single in the 4th that knotted the game at 2-2 and scored runs in both the 4th and 7th innings to help lead the Rams to the win.

Stony Brook has been a bit of a thorn for Iona this year as Wachter became the second member of the Class of 2021 to help defeat the Gaels on the diamond. Two weeks ago, Tyler Smith ’21 recorded an RBI and scored a run in the 9th inning as Saint Peter’s topped Iona, 12-6.

Wachter and Fordham are back in action on Friday in a home match-up with St. Joseph’s.
