Swimmers Earn Academic All-American Honors

(PC: Bruce Jeffrey)

After a strong winter season that saw multiple swimmers cruise to fast times as the Easterns Championships and NYSAIS Championships, Sofia Arrascue earned an individual Academic All-American distinction and the boys’ team earned a team honor from the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association.

The boys’ team had a GPA average of 3.55 to earn the silver level NISCA All-American Scholar Team Award thanks to Andrew Burke, David Chang, Oliver Griffin, Sebastian Guadalupe-Pena, Brendan Jeffrey, Daniel Kim, Joshua Kim, Philip Kong, Adam Li, Chris Liu, Jason Lu, Hugo MacDonald, David Manigault, Liam McEnerney, Antonio Napiza, Harry Pan, Gavin Paton, Ethan Rao, Reid Saraniero, Sam Specht, William Tao, Daniel Thiele, James Wigington, and William Zeron who illustrated this season what true student-athletes look like.

Additionally, Sofia Arrascue was named an Academic All-American by the NISCA. Only 2% of the 353,936 high school students involved in aquatics earn the distinction and Sofia was part of that select group.
