Passalacqua slides into second during the 2002 season

On this day 18 years ago, Anthony Passalacqua ’99 hit three home runs in Erskine College’s high-scoring affair with Pfeiffer College.

The former Bear hit two-run homers in the bottom of the 1st, 5th, and 9th innings, but it wasn’t enough as the Flying Fleets fell, 12-13. Passalacqua finished his day with 3 hits in 5 at bats and 7 RBIs.

He finished the 2004 season with a .400 batting average, 23 doubles, 10 home runs, 60 RBIs, 60 runs, and 17 stolen bases. His play earned him a place on the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team and he won Erskine’s highest honor, the Jake Todd Award, for excelling on and off the field.
