Audige’s Late FT Helps ‘Cats Advance

Audige (#1)

Yesterday evening, in the opening round of the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament, Chase Audige ’17 hit the go-ahead free throw to help #12 Northwestern University complete the comeback against #13 Nebraska in a 71-69 victory.

The Wildcats trailed by 14 points at the break and by as many as 15 in the second half, but a 14-0 Northwestern run over a 2:45 span ensured a taut finish to the game. The score was knotted at 69-69 with just 18 seconds left when Audige hit the second of two free throws and the ‘Cats never trailed again. The former Bear finished with 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals in 25 minutes.

Audige and Northwestern are back in action this afternoon against 5th-seeded and #25 nationally ranked Iowa at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
