On Sunday afternoon, the University of Notre Dame men’s fencing team competed in the ACC Championships, held at Duke’s Cameron Indoor Stadium, and took home their fifth title, thanks in part to Josh Zhang ’19 who went 3-1 in his epee matches.
The junior went 1-0 in a 16-11 Fighting Irish victory over Boston College, 1-0 in a 17-10 win over North Carolina, and 1-1 in a 17-10 win over Duke. Notre Dame has won five of the eight ACC Championships that have been contested since the tournament was reestablished in 2015 after a 33-year hiatus.
The team now looks ahead to the NCAA Midwest Regional on March 12.
