On this day 31 years ago, the wrestling team won the annual Brohard Tournament by the narrowest of margins.

Individual champions Rich Droscoski (105 lbs), Brian Banks (126), Jon Forsythe (132), and Tom Cameron (155) helped the Bears accumulate 211.5 points, which proved just enough to edge Wheatley’s 210 in the eight-team tournament. Forsythe was named the day’s Outstanding Wrestler by the coaches.

Droscoski, Forsythe, and Cameron went on to win individual titles at the League VII Championships hosted at Stony Brook.
