On Saturday, the University of Notre Dame men’s fencing team went undefeated at the Northwestern Duals, hosted by Northwestern University, to improve their season record to 38-0 and further cement their #1 national ranking.
Josh Zhang ’19 had a strong day with the epee against Lawrence (2-0), Incarnate Word (2-1), Stanford (1-1), and Northwestern (3-0) to help Notre Dame earn dominant victories over each.
Last week, the USFCA released its Mid-Season Poll and the Fighting Irish remained in the top spot they have held since the Early Season Poll was released on Dec. 6. The team now looks ahead to its biggest events of the year, starting with the USA Junior Olympics on Feb. 18 in Salt Lake City.
