Stony Brook 5 Easily Defeats Adelphi, 32-15

Victors Chalk Up 13th Straight as Losers Drop 7th in a Row

The strong Stony Brook School basketball team hung up its 13th straight victory yesterday, defeating the Adelphi Academy quintet, 32 to 15, in the Adelphi gymnasium. It was the losers’ seventh straight defeat.

Stony Brook pushed to the fore at the outset, with Ed Mackenzie caging the first score from the floor with a difficult long-distance toss. Adelphi was held to a lone tally during the first half of the game. The visitors from Suffolk County led at the half time, 15 to 2.

During the second portion of the contest the Adelphi cagers staged an attack which netted a few points, but the rally was short-lived and the advantage gained was soon wiped out by a counter-attack by the Stony Brook lads.
