On Thursday afternoon, our three-time reigning PSAA Champion cross country teams opened their seasons with dominant wins against familiar foes Portledge, Long Island Lutheran, Kew-Forest, and Solomon Schechter. The S. T. Hsaio home course was buffeted by gusty winds for much of the race, but the Bears were unfazed as they flooded the top spots in both races.
Evelyn Apazidis looked poised to take the mantle vacated by Sarah Wong, winner of the last three individual league titles, by finishing first in a time of 17:34. Yasmin Tinaz (2nd place/19:00), Alexandra Puopolo (4th/20:08), and Mia Trama (5th/20:27) also earned top five finishes for the Brook.
