Yesterday afternoon, the girls’ tennis team earned a 6-1, non-league victory at Port Jeff to improve to 2-0 overall on the season. It was the first match-up since September 13, 2016 for the old public school league rivals, a match the Bears took, 4-3.
Carina Cristobal (6-0, 6-0), Alana Wu (6-2, 6-1), Isabel Guo (5-7, 7-6, Forfeit), and Elis Vieth (Forfeit) swept the singles matches while Ali Cristobal and Juliana Arrieta (6-4, 6-1) and Meghan Creighton and Vida Sandberg (6-1, 6-1) took the second and third doubles matches to win their third straight match vs. the Royals.
The Bears are back on court this afternoon in a home tilt with Portledge in a rematch of the 2020 PSAA Championship.
