This past weekend, in a two-day regatta held at the Waterfront Center in Oyster Bay, the sail team earned a 4th place finish out of 14 of the best teams in the region at the Mid-Atlantic Interscholastic Sailing Association (MASSA) Girl’s Championship.
On Saturday, Lilly Jette, Mairead Reitzel, and Imogene Dunn waited out a two-hour delay before the wind picked up around 10:15am. Though the winds were constantly shifting between three and five knots in West Harbor, the fleet was able to complete 10 races and, despite the unstable conditions, our trio of sailors were remarkably consistent. Jette was the skipper in each race while Dunn sailed in the first two races and Reitzel in the final eight.
