Scanlon Enters Season as NY’s 2nd Fastest Hurdler

Scanlon at the 2019 Feds Championships (PC: MileSplit NY)

In 2019, Colin Scanlon turned in a sensational sophomore season by earning PSAA Championships in the 110m & 400m hurdles, a NYSAIS State Championship in the 400m hurdles, and a shattered school record and 6th place finish in the 400m hurdles at the New York State Federation Championships. His 55.68 time ranked him as the #4 sophomore in the U.S. at the time. Unfortunately, today marks 675 days since Scanlon last kicked out of the blocks in a hurdle race due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But this spring the Bears are back on the track and the senior now enters his final season as the 2nd-fastest 400m hurdler in New York. Check out the MileSplit NY full rankings here. Though the NYSAIS and Federation Championships will not be run this year, the Bears have a pair of dual meets with Poly Prep, a regular season PSAA meet, and a PSAA Championship meet on the schedule, giving Scanlon a chance to leave a final mark on the program.
