In 2019, Colin Scanlon turned in a sensational sophomore season by earning PSAA Championships in the 110 and 400 hurdles, a NYSAIS State Championship in the 400 hurdles, and a shattered school record and 6th place finish in the 400 hurdles at the New York State Federation Championships. His 55.68 time ranked him as the #4 sophomore in the U.S. at the time. Unfortunately, today marks 675 days since Scanlon last kicked out of the blocks in a hurdle race due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
But this spring the Bears are back on the track and the senior now enters his final season as the second-fastest 400 hurdler in New York according to MileSplit NY. Though the NYSAIS and Federation Championships will not be run this year, the Bears have a pair of dual meets with Poly Prep, a regular season PSAA meet, and a PSAA Championship meet on the schedule, giving Scanlon a chance to leave a final mark on the program.
