The ’89 baseball squad

On this day 31 years ago, the baseball team walked off in a comeback win over East Hampton.

The Bonackers held a 4-0 lead after three innings, but the Bears fought back with a run in the bottom of the 4th and four more runs in the 5th to take a 5-4 edge. East Hampton struck back for two runs in the 6th, but the Bears knotted the game with a run in their half as the game moved on to the final inning.

In the last of the 7th, Cameron Thiessen roped a two-out single to score Chad Smith and give the Brook a 7-6 win. Thiessen also earned the win on the mound.
