On Thursday evening, the wrestling squad turned in a historic victory in a tri-meet sweep over Martin Luther and North Shore Hebrew Academy. The dual victories over the Cougars and the Stars gave the Brook an undefeated PSAA Championship season for their first team title in 48 years.

The Bears rolled to a 48-17 win over the Martin Luther thanks largely to seven forfeits from the Cougars. Eze Barrah also injured his opponent during a legal move, resulting in a victory for the Bears.

Against the Stars, the Bears’ weight class coverage led to six forfeits. They also earned a pair of pins in the 48-24 win thanks to Forest Kaplan-Walbrecht (120 lbs/2:32) and Carter Brett (138 lbs/1:22).

The Brook last won a wrestling title in 1972, the last of their nine Ivy League crowns. They are back in action tomorrow afternoon in their Senior Day match-up vs. Huntington.
