Yesterday afternoon, the baseball team topped Waldorf, 16-3, to clinch at least a share of the PSAA East Division Championship, their first team title since the 1999 team won the Long Island Championship.
Forest Kaplan-Walbrecht got the start for the Brook and by the time he took the mound in the bottom of the 1st, he had a 12-run lead. In his first career inning of work, the eighth-grader struck out the side.
The Bears tacked on three runs in the 2nd and another in the 3rd before the mercy rule was invoked for the seventh time in the Bears’ eight wins. Tim Wozny went 2-for-2 at the plate with 4 RBIs to power the offense.
The Bears are back in action tomorrow vs. Avenues. A win would clinch the outright East Division crown.
