Yesterday afternoon, the baseball team topped Waldorf, 16-3, to clinch at least a share of the PSAA East Division Championship, their first team title since the 1999 team won the Long Island Championship.

Forest Kaplan-Walbrecht got the start for the Brook and by the time he took the mound in the bottom of the 1st, he had a 12-run lead. In his first career inning, the 8th-grader struck out the side.

The Bears tacked on 3 runs in the 2nd and another in the 3rd before the mercy rule was invoked for the seventh time in the Bears’ eight wins. Tim Wozny went 2-for-2 at the plate with 4 RBIs to power the offense.

The Bears are back in action tomorrow vs. Avenues. A win would clinch the outright East Division crown.
