The ’89 baseball squad

On this day 30 years ago, the baseball team won a thriller over LaSalle Military Academy.

The Bears led 6-1 after three innings, but LaSalle chipped back to within 6-4 after five innings. The Brook added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth, but LaSalle rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh to close to within 9-8. Clinging to the narrow lead in the final inning, outfielder Kolt Jones threw out a LaSalle runner at the plate to end the game.

Cameron Thiessen pitched a complete game with 13 strikeouts for the Brook.
