Yesterday afternoon, the girls’ basketball team improved to 7-1 in the PSAA with a 60-43 win over Martin Luther.
Beth Felix scored 33 points on the heels of her 36-point performance in Friday night’s 57-20 win over Waldorf. The senior sharpshooter drained a school record nine 3-pointers (seven in the first half) to lead the Brook back from an early deficit and give them a seventh win in their last eight games.
The Cougars took a 15-12 lead after the first quarter, but the Bears battled back to take a 30-28 edge at the break. The Brook took control with a 14-6 third frame and put the game away with a 16-9 fourth.
Along with her 33 points, Felix added 7 assists, 5 rebounds, four steals, and 2 blocks. Niamh Scanlon (17 points/ three 3-pointers), Liz Robbins (4), Wura Obasanjo (4), Bekah Detwiler (4), and Sarah Hull (3) rounded out the scoring.
