Felix & Scanlon Bury Woodmere to Clinch Playoff Spot

This evening, the girls’ basketball team improved to 8-1 in the PSAA with a 52-36 victory over Lawrence Woodmere, the eighth win in their last nine games. The win also clinched a playoff berth for the Brook. Beth Felix led all scorers with 30 points (six 3-pointers), her third straight game of at least 30 to go along with performances of 36 and 33.

The Bears were in control the whole way, leading 15-9 before taking a 12-point lead into the break. They extended their lead to 44-29 before closing the game with an 8-7 final frame.

Niamh Scanlon (14 points/ three 3-pointers), Wura Obasanjo (6), Liz Robbins (1), and Sarah Hull (1) rounded out the scoring for the Brook.

Felix is currently averaging 26.1 points per game, tops among Long Island private school players and tied for 2nd overall on the island. Her 40 three-pointers are currently 3rd on Long Island. The Bears are back in action on Friday in a home match-up vs. Waldorf.
