This afternoon, Jyles Etienne finished 2nd in the high jump to help lead the Indiana Men’s Track & Field team to a 72-50 victory over the University of Tennessee at Gladstein Fieldhouse in Bloimington, IN.
The sophomore leapt a season best 7′ 1″ to finish runner-up to Tennessee’s Darryl Sullivan who went 7′ 2.5″. Etienne’s performance came on the heels of his December Hoosier Open victory in which he jumped 7′ 0.5″. The former Bear has now cleared 7-feet three times as a Hoosier. Today’s jump slots Etienne at 8th in America in the men’s college high jump rankings.
The Hoosiers are back in action on Friday in a dual meet at the University of Kentucky.
