On this day 89 years ago, the basketball team topped East Islip, 25-22. Here is the recap from the Brooklyn Daily Eagle:

Brilliant work by [Ed] MacKenzie and [Bob] Glover, who scored 21 points between them, gave the Stony Brook School basketball team a 25 to 22 victory over the East Islip High School quintet in a tight game here yesterday. Stony Brook came from behind to discount a 13-8 lead which the visitors held at half time.

Charles Ruffner’s boys went on to finish 13-6 that season.
