The 2001 boys’ soccer team

On this day 17 years ago, the boys’ soccer team clinched the program’s third League Championship with a 3-1 win over Pierson.

The team was led by All-State and League MVP Jon Hicks and the All-Conference play of Brandon Koupal, Henry Pistell, and Ian Schlesinger.

The Bear offense was as potent as their defense was stingy, outscoring league opponents an astonishing 32-2 to finish undefeated at 8-0-2. Goalkeeper Joe Rulli recorded eight shutouts between the posts.
