Liotine & SBU Stage Furious Rally vs. #13 ‘Nova

Liotine in action yesterday (PC: Newsday)
Don Liotine ’13 and the 17th ranked Stony Brook University Football knocked off #13 Villanova yesterday evening to improve to 4-1 on the season.
It took a big comeback after the Wildcats built a 21-0 lead with 5:32 left in the second quarter. Liotine’s three-yard touchdown plunge with 12:04 left in the third quarter cut the deficit to 21-13 and was part of a run of 29 unanswered points registered by the Seawolves. Villanova finally broke the run on a touchdown with 56 seconds left in the game, but the two-point conversion failed, sealing the Stony Brook win.
Liotine led all rushers with 78 yards on 22 carries and scored the 19th touchdown of his career, moving him into a tie for eighth on the Seawolves’ all-time list.
Liotine and the Seawolves are back in action next Saturday at Towson.
