The 1996 baseball team

On this day 22 years ago, the baseball team clinched the League VIII title, the third of four league championships in program history.

Catcher Chris Liese gave the Bears all the offense they would need, driving in two first inning runs en route to the 6-1 win over LaSalle. Liese also flashed his arm, throwing out four base runners on the day. Chris Meserole earned the win for the Bears in helping them improve to 12-2.

The Brook went on to win the program’s first County Championship since 1987.
