Yesterday afternoon, the track teams earned decisive victories over the Ross School on an unseasonably warm day that saw feel temperatures rise to 88-degrees. The girls topped the Cosmos, 117-24, while the boys cruised by their East End foes, 94.5-35.5.
The girls swept eight events and won all three relays. Multiple winners included Hannah Detwiler (100 & 200), Sarah Wong (400 & 800), Niamh Scanlon (400 hurdles & high jump), Miranda Harrigan (1500 & 3000), and Francine Leung (long jump & triple jump).
The boys swept five events and took two of the three relays to complete a dominant day on the track for the Bears. Multiple winners included Colin Scanlon (110 hurdles, 200 & long jump) and Pavel Portnoy (1600 & 3200).
Both teams are back in action next Tuesday in their final dual meet of the season vs. Greenport.
