On this day 45 years ago, the boys’ track team dispatched the New York Military Academy, 96-35, to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Stony Brook Wins 3rd Meet
Five double winners sparked Stony Brook’s unbeaten track team to its thid victory yesterday, a 96-35 rout of the New York Military Academy.
Randall Ellison won the 100 and 220, Don Lockerbie the 440 and 880, and George Worthington the mile and two-mile. In the field events, Bob Vojada won the 70-yard high hurdles and the 120 low hurdles, and Gary Webster the long and triple jumps.
The track squad went on to finish 7-0 to win their 15th and final Ivy League crown before moving to the public school league a year later.
