This afternoon the girls’ track team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 77-64 win over Babylon, and in the process avenged a 73-74 loss to the Panthers a year ago.

Francine Leung once again led the way for the Brook, racking up 16 points and wins in the long and triple jump while 7th-grader Niamh Scanlon placed in four events, earning 14 key points for the Bears. Miranda Harrigan won the 3000 and provided one of the highlights of the afternoon in the 1500, taking the lead on the final turn and out-kicking her Babylon opponent to the line.

The Bears are back in action on Thursday in a match-up at Port Jeff.
