Britton elevates vs. Rocky Point during the 1974-75 season

On this day 42 years ago, the boys’ basketball team edged Mill Neck in a comeback victory.

The Brookers led 11-8 after the first quarter, but trailed 26-17 at the half after finding themselves on the short end of a lopsided second quarter. They battled back with a 16-10 third period, then poured in 24 points in the fourth to complete the comeback.

The Brook led by three points with 26 seconds left when Jerry Britton iced the win by pulling down a defensive rebound and scoring on the other end to cap the 57-52 win. Britton and Tony Fort each scored 18 points while Dave Wilson added 10.
