On this day 73 years ago, the boys’ basketball team topped the Lake Grove School, 43-12. Here is the recap from Newsday:
Stony Brook Avenges Earlier Loss
Stony Brook–Scoring at will, Stony Brook School’s basketball team avenged an early season defeat at the hand of Lake Grove School, here, Saturday night to the tune of 43-12. The victory was the fourth in nine tilts for the home team.
Captain Charley Medd was the big gun in the local’s attack with four buckets and four free throws for a total of 12 markers.
Will Downey added 8 points for the victors.
