Swimmers Sink Lindy in Opener

The boys’ swim team won their season opener yesterday in a 55-38 triumph over Lindenhurst, as the Bears claimed first place in seven of the eleven events.
Hunter Markowitz led the way with two first place finishes in the 200 freestyle (1:54.66) and 100 butterfly (58.40), while Leo Hsu (200 individual medley/ 2:32.11), Jack Thiele (100 backstroke/ 1:11.18), and Spencer Griffin (100 breaststroke/ 1:09.19) also earned individual victories for the Bears.
The Brook took two of the three relays as Jack Thiele, Tony Bi, Markus Calero, and Andrew Thiele teamed up to win the 200 medley (2:18.19), while Markowitz, Griffin, Hsu, and Robert Fehrenbach took the 200 freestyle relay (1:44.58).
The Bears are back in the pool on Thursday at East Hampton/Bridgehampton/Pierson.
