Liotine & SBU Pound Wagner

This afternoon, the Stony Brook University football team improved to 8-2 (6-1) with a 38-10 non-conference victory over Wagner on Senior Day at LaValle Stadium. The win solidified Stony Brook’s chances of earning a spot in the FCS Playoffs and moved them into second place in the CAA following Elon’s loss at New Hampshire.

Don Liotine ’13 broke the game open with 11:20 left in the third quarter with a 45-yard touchdown run that left the Seawolves up 21-10. The former Bear finished with 79 rushing yards on 8 carries for a game-high 9.9 yards per carry. The score was Liotine’s seventh of the season and 14th of his career.

Donald Liotine, who had eight carries for 79 yards, barreled over a defender on a carry to the right and sprinted 45 yards for a score to give the Seawolves a two-possession lead.

Liotine and the Seawolves wrap up the regular season next Saturday at Maine (4-5) with a chance to win their ninth game in a season for the first time since the 2012 team went 10-3.
