On this day 9 years ago, Amanda Shapiro ’04 took home All-Conference honors in the 50 and 100-yard breaststroke at the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Swimming & Diving Championships.

The Wesleyan University junior placed 2nd in the 100 breast (1:06.27) and 3rd in the 50 (30.36). Her 100 time was good enough to earn her a 2nd consecutive trip to Nationals in the event. Additionally, her lead-off leg in the 400 free relay (53.15) was good enough for the Nationals qualifying standard. She closed her memorable day by helping the 400 medley relay squad post a 3:59.60 mark, good enough for 5th place in the conference and a slot at Nationals.
