After helping the Adelphi University women’s soccer team to two wins last week, Donna Liotine ’11 was named the Defensive Player of the Week by the Northeast-10 Conference.

She anchored a backline that posted shutouts over LeMoyne College (2-0) and Merrimack College (1-0), and provided all the offense in the win over Merrimack with a penalty kick in the 38th minute. This is Liotine’s first “player of the week” honor since being named Rookie of the Week during the first week of October, 2011.

The Panthers finish up their regular season at home this week with games against American International College and Stonehill College, before looking ahead to the Northeast-10 Tournament. They are currently tied for fourth in the conference standings with Franklin Pierce at 7-4-1, but there is still plenty of time for those spots to be shaken up before the season ends.
